Happy Veteran's Day

This is my Dad when he first went in to the Army. Pretty cool huh! My uncle had found this picture and my Dad hadn't seen it in years. What a great day to honor our veteran's.

My parents are so funny, the went all over town getting all of the free food that all of the restaurants do for vets! Applebee's, subway and then to the car wash for a free wash!

My Dad is having partial knee replacement surgery a week from Monday. His knees are SO bad, he has been using a cane. It is going to be a pretty intense surgery. He even has to have a spinal. Finally, he gets to know a woman's pain!! My Mom can't say anything though, she had all of us naturally! However, I can tease him! He will have his other knee done later, they recommend only doing one knee at a time! So, hopefully he will do well in the surgery and Dylan can help take care of him when he gets home!

Hello, blog world!! I can't believe how long it has been since I have last posted. Well, it's just the same old story, busy times! School is unbelievable busy and just life in general is busy. Our camera went kaput and so we finally got a new one, nothing fancy:( just a camera! Couponing has also been on the back burner. I have only been getting the stuff that I really needed. Luckily because I couponed so much in the summer we have a pretty good stockpile. I haven't had to buy a toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, soap, you name it for probably 6 months! It has been mostly food! I went to Walmart and used my Albertson's doublers and only spent, $9.42! I got the milk for .52! Then 5 packs of wipies, 10 trial size body wash, that I got paid to buy! Then 2 eyeliners and some cookies. I promise that I will post some more, with a lot of pics!!

New Calling

I just got a new calling in church and I am intimidated to say the least!! I am the new 2nd counselor in the primary presidency! AHHH, I have never been in the primary other than a teacher, and lets be honest that isn't the most intense calling in the ward! 2 months ago I was called into the nursery and I was loving it. I was in there with one of my best girlfriends in the ward and we loved it. Sharing time is going to be SO scary!! 15 minutes of just me standing up there giving a lesson that will teach the kids something sounds really scary. Also, conducting is going to be scary also! Luckily the rest of the presidency is letting me just be the hall person for a few weeks while I get used to everything. Except the hall person has it rough too!! There is always at least one teacher that just decides not to show up and the hall person has to go find a sub. Ok, I will stop venting!! I obviously got this calling for a reason, I need to grow in this area and I am really trying to look at it that way, it may just take me a few weeks:) I really like the other girls in the presidency and I am getting to really now them better. I also really love the kids in our ward, they are great and really cute! So, wish me luck because I will for sure need it!!

Tomorrow is my last day of classes. I have a huge final in the morning and then a project due in a class that night. AHHH! I want it to be over already. This semester has been really difficult on me and the family. I had 3 night classes and a class on tuesday/ thursday morning. Each time I had a night class I had to bring Dylan up to my sisters and then Aaron would get off and have to drive and pick him up. It was a lot of work and we are all tired! If I can make it through tomorrow I will be home free and I will be taking the summer off. I really need a break and a chance to just be a full time mom and wife!

Kalie has also been really busy. She graduates on the 26th and her big 18th birthday is on the 24th!! She is SUPER excited and we are seriously so proud of her. She has been working 3-4 nights a week at a book store until almost 10 pm and then getting up and going to school. She also starts her lifeguarding job this Saturday as well! She doesn't start BYU-I until January (dumb track system!) so she will be working 2 jobs this summer and then continue with the book store until she leaves for college. Busy, busy!

Anyway, I will post some pictures of everything when I am done with school!!

It's Official

Dylan is color blind. I have thought this for a while, because at school his teacher said that he couldn't see a few colors. So, I finally had him tested today and he is pretty severly color blind. The doctor didn't know exactly which colors he can't see very well but he said that usually reds and browns are hard to see. The doctor also suggested that I have him tested in 2 years where we will know how severe it is. Here is the link to be tested for color blindness. It is pretty cool. The first circle with the number 25, is one that anybody can see, color blind or not. However, the other ones aren't and you won't be able to see them if you are color blind. My dad is really color blind so Dylan had a 50/50 chance that he would and it looks like he is. I grew up with my Dad asking me all of the time if clothes matched, so I am used to it and I don't think that it is that big of a deal. Aaron was really shocked and kind of sad for him. Don't get me wrong, I am too but he doesn't know any different and it really won't affect him in his life. The doctor said the only career he couldn't have is a pilot in the air force, which is something I don't want him to do anyway!!! So, I just need to let his teacher know which is the main reason I wanted him tested. That way when they are testing him or he is doing an art project the teacher won't think he is getting it really wrong!!

Wow, I am a really bad blogger! I haven't posted anything in a while, just too busy with school. However, I just had to post about a show that is on tonight! It is called, Extreme Couponing!!!! It is AWESOME! Look for it on TLC. There are 2, thirty minute episodes and it is actually going to be a series. I have class tonight, but I am for sure taping it and forcing Aaron to watch it with me! He totally wants me to be like they are on the show and have a crazy stockpile, but I just don't have the time. Maybe this summer, with not having to go to school, yeah!!!!! Anyway I hope everybody watches and gets inspired!! Tomorrow my sister and I will be getting 30 bottles of fabric softener for FREE!! Just having to pay tax, I am super excited! I will post a pic as soon as I am done:)

First Soccer Game!

We finally signed Dylan up for Soccer this spring and he had his first game on Saturday! I was a ball of nerves, of course be he did really well! He scored a goal and was so excited! The only bad thing was that he kept trying to grap the ball to slow it down in order to kick the ball:) Silly boy! He is the one in shorts, I don't know what I was thinking, he was the only one in shorts and it was freezing. I felt like a really bad Mom! He had fun and Aaron is LOVING having a child that loves soccer. He has practice once a week and since I have class 3 nights a week, Aaron gets to take him! He loves it and I think that it is good bonding time!

His coach that was also the ref. It is so funny that the games only last like 45 min and half the time they are taking breaks. Dylan didn't even want to rest he was just wanting to run and scream down the field!! Ahhh, he is Aaron's child, I learn that more and more every day!!!!

Walgreens deal

There haven't been that many good deals lately, however today made up for that! I went to Walgreen's and got all of this for $6.23! 12 deoderants, 3 purex fabric softeners, 1 pine sol, 3 envelopes, 2 2000 flushes and a chips ahoy! I still have 4 more deoderant coupons that are buy one get one free and there are buy one get one at the store right now, so I get 2 free ones per coupon. So, I will go back to a different store and get the rest for a total of 20 deoderants for free!

Dylan finally lost his first tooth! It was loose forever, but I was too chicken to pull it out. I still have such nightmares about my Dad pulling a tooth out that wasn't ready, ahh! So, we just kind of let it get really loose. Then one night while Aaron and I were out to a movie and Kalie was babysitting she got it out! She tied some floss to it and out it came! Thanks Kales! Hopefully she will be around for all of his other teeth, because I can't do it:) I think he looks adorable and he thinks it is pretty awesome!

Today would have been Audrey's 3rd birthday! Time really has flown by. I don't know what has happened in the last three years! It seems like another lifetime ago that I was pregnant with her. Dylan was very excited it was his litte sister's birthday. He wants to make a cake, so after he gets out of school we will whip one up! I don't think that today will be a hard day for me emotionally but maybe on Friday, since that is the day she died. So it will be fun to have a little party for our beautiful daughter who is waiting for us in heaven!

7 Brides for 7 Brothers!!

Last weekend Kalie performed in the play, 7 Brides for 7 Brothers!! It was a blast! She has been practicing everyday since December and has worked very hard. We are so proud of her! She played Alice the youngest bride. Here are some pictures after the play.

Sick house:(

Well, the sickness has hit our house. I thought that we were doing pretty good then I started to not feel good a few weeks ago. I had a really sore throat but just kind of dealt with it but then Dylan started to not feel good. He came home from school and had a red rash all over his body. I felt terrible for sending him to school but he really did seem fine before he school, oops! So we spent 3 hours in the quick care and finally saw a doctor and he said he had strep throat. So, he has been on antibiotics for the last 9 days. Then yesterday my ear and my jaw started to really hurt. I couldn't sleep and I was feeling miserable. So after class today I went to the quick care and they said I have an ear infection. I hate being sick, lets just hope that Aaron and Kalie don't get sick. Anyway, that is my rant for the day!

Walmart deal!

All 10 razors for free! They had mega clearance deals at Walmart and they had these razors marked down to $3. I had 10 $4 off coupons. It was a total nightmare because the cashier didn't know how to price adjust the coupon so 3 other people had to come over and fix it! The things I will do for free razors!

Back to School

Another semester began last week and I am really feeling the stress! Although, I always feel like that at the beginning of a semester because the professor's always throw everything at you. The second day of class I had a meltdown because I felt SO overwhelmed! Luckily Aaron came home and cleaned the house, made dinner and took care of Dylan. Love him!! I am taking 13 credits this semester. It is really nice to FINALLY be in teaching classes. Let me tell ya, I am much more motivated to do well in these classes than in science or math, boring!! My first class is, Foundations of Education. I really like this class. My professor is really fun and shares a lot of stories of when he was a teacher in a junior high. We are pretty much just learning about the evolution of the school. How it started and where it is going. The next class is, child and educational psychology. This one is another really good class with an awesome teacher. I just love that we talk about real life situations in real classrooms. The next class is Western world literature, not my favorite. Luckily I love to read! The last class is, Comprehensive literacy. Pretty much teaching kids how to read. I actually haven't gone to this class yet because I signed up for it late. I do have to do field experience for this one. I think I have to spend 33 hours throughout the semester in a classroom. So it should be fun! Anyway, that is my schedule, pretty crazy I think!!

I am the proud new owner of a beautiful blue CRICUT MACHINE!!!!!!!!! I have wanted one of these since they first came out! I almost cried as I left the store, it was a little dramatic! How could I not? The possibilities are endless with this machine! You can even do vinyl lettering with. Poor Aaron! He just rolls his eyes as I gush about this thing! He just sold a house and suggested that I get one, isn't that nice!! He always jokes and says, mama needs a new toy for her card making! When I turned it on and showed him what it did he was actually really impressed! Once I figure out how to use it, I will post some pics of my cards!

Went to Albertsons and was able to get 10 boxes of dishwasher tablets, that's 200 loads of dishes for a total of, $9.20!! Party! I will smile everytime I do the dishes:) I was able to get so many because I know get 10 Sunday papers! They are originally $4.89 ( who would ever pay that?) but on sale this week for $2.99. In last Sunday's paper we got coupons for $2.25 off of one! Making them .74 a box!!!! If I do a load of dishes everyday I will have enough for about 28 weeks! Again...party!

Next was the old reliable Walgreens where I got paid $5.47 to buy everything you see here!!

For this Walgreens trip I got paid .50 to take this out of the store!!! All of the shampoo and conditioner was on clearance for like $1.15 but I had $3 off of 2 coupons. The nail polish was totally free, which I really needed! Isn't that crazy, I still can't believe it!

We got a new picture for our Christmas card and this is it! So, act surprised when you open up your card! I don't know how I feel about it! Dylan isn't even looking at the camera and Aaron looks like he is on a roller coaster!! The deal with these pictures was that we got a few shots from a lady that my sister knows and that was kind of all we had to choose from. This was the best one, so I guess this is the one! Oh well, It is starting to grow on me...we'll see.

Why do I love black friday so much?! I love waking up at 3am and getting hot cocoa and shopping!! I love that there are SO many deals, how could I not go. Aaron of course thinks I'm crazy but oh well, I'm going anyway!! In the meantime, stores are already doing really good deals in the beginning of the week so here they are!

Walgreens deal, I got paid $1 to buy all of this stuff!

Then, I went over to Target where they were having awesome sales on some of their boardgames. I know there will be a lot more on black friday that I plan to get but I couldn't pass these up, because we don't own any of these! I got all of these games for $13.78. I saved $40.16! Awesome Christmas presents!

YW in Excellence!!

Last night we had YW in Excellence for mutual and it was SO fun! All of the leaders dressed up in the 8 different colors of the values, Fatih, Divine Nature, Individual worth, Knowledge, Choice and Accountability, Good Works, Integrity and Virture! We did a skit as the super values and it was a blast! Our awesome Bishop Corder even dressed up and participated! I think the girls had a lot of fun too!

I haven't posted my good deals lately but I was able to get some pretty good ones today. My sister and I went to Walgreen's and Albertsons and did pretty well! This first picture is from Albertsons where they had doublers! I spent $14.32 and saved $39.26.

This is at Walgreen's where I spent $13.71 and saved $34.01. I am totally addicted to couponing! My favorite day of the week is Monday when I know that I can go out and use my coupons! I have this friend that is actually more addicted than me if you can believe it! She gets 15 Sunday newspapers. I only get 5 and I feel totally overwhelmed with the time it takes cutting them out and organizing them. I don't know how she does it! Maybe if I wasn't in school I could do it, but I barely have the time to do the little shopping I do!!

Toy Story 3

Toy Story 3 came out last week and we were SO excited to buy it! I actually got a really good deal on it! I think I only spent $11 when it was originally $29. I was also able to get 2 packs of batteries. So, $11 for the blu ray and 2 packs of batteries! Dylan was hooked right when I put it on!

Such a cute boy! Plus it was a really good movie, Aaron was laughing so much!

Well, Halloween came and went this year really fast! I can't believe it is already November, where did the time go? Halloween was pretty low key this year for us! We went trick or treating with my brother Ken and his three kiddos. It was fun, we went for about an hour and it was the perfect amount of time. Toward the end, Dylan even wanted to go and I was the one that wanting to keep going!! This year Dylan wanted to be a skeleton, but this is the costume he chose! He thinks it is a skeleton but I think it's some kind of ghoul?! Who knows, he was happy!

This is from boo at the zoo. Olivia was brave and fed the goats! We went on Saturday and it was actually a lot of fun. They passed out a ton of candy and we were able to see all of the animals and best part it was free with our membership!

My 17 year old neice, Kalie lives with us and she had her senior pictures done last week! Aren't they SO good! She is actually a model for this company, so she got a VIP 2 hour photo shoot, it was loooong!! However, it was really fun and she had a blast! My only job was to try and make her laugh and I held all of her clothes that she changed from! So, I felt pretty important! I can't believe that I have a 17 year old living with me, poor Aaron has a heart attack nearly everyday with all of the drama that comes from having a teenager in our house! Luckily she is an angel, besides cleaning her room! She is the VP on Seminary Counsel, she is in almost all AP classes, she just finished up her 4th and final year of marching band and she just applied a lot of colleges! She is hoping to get into BYU-I, but Aaron is trying his hardest to get her to go to the University of Utah! We'll see! We love her and are very proud of all that she has accomplished!

Cupcake Craziness

This year our ward had a chili cookoff and trunk or treat. I don't know how, I think Aaron, signed us up to do one of everything this year! I had to make chili, which I don't really like so therefore never make but I found a good recipe and it turned out okay, except I didn't win:( We also signed up to pass out candy for the trunk or treat, so Aaron decorated the trunk and he passed out a ton of candy! I just took Dylan around and he has more than enough candy! Since I am in the YW we had to do a cupcake walk, so I decided to be ambitious and make these crazy Halloween cupcakes! Ahh, I had to make 3 dozen but I think they turned out okay!

That's a lot of cupcakes! I may have eaten 2 or 10, I can't remember...

I found these little ghost cupcakes at Target. Aaron decorated these, cute huh!

Then, green google eye cupcakes!! Aren't these SO fun! They actually took a really long time to make. You frost the cupcake which I dyed green, then take a big marshmallow and cut it in half. I just placed them anywhere, the crazier shaped the better! Then, with that same frosting, stick it in the microwave for like 10 seconds and drizzle it over the marshmallows. I searched EVERY store in my area for candy eyes to put on but I couldn't find them anywhere, so I found these Wilton fondant tubes. After you squeeze it onto the cupcake it hardens just like fondant!

I didn't eat one, too much frosting for me, but the kids at the party loved them!! I was pretty proud of myself!

New Blog!

So, I am taking an educational technology class and I had to create a blog! Not a problem for me! Usually the assignments for this class are really hard and require 8-10 hours to complete in a week but this one not so much!! It took me 10 minutes! I'll give you a little background on this site. I have to pretend that I am already a teacher and that I am creating a class blog. On this first post I had to talk about myself and how I will incorporate technology in my classroom. So if it sounds like I am lying it is because I am!! We are supposed to create our ideal classroom setup. I really like this class and I am really excited to get my own classroom! Even though it won't be for a few years, I am slowly gettting myself prepared!

Today is Aaron's 33rd birthday! Wow, time flies! I feel really bad today because I have a ton of homework and I have a 3 hour class tonight and so we can't really celebrate until the weekend. He was nice of course and said it didn't matter! I still feel really bad:( I think Dylan and him will go see a movie tonight while I am at class. I went to Albertson's today because they had double coupons and I got all of this for $30.95! It seems like a lot but I was able to get a ton! 11 cake mixes, 9 frostings, 3 packages of yeast, 9 progresso soups, 5 huge bottles of gain soap (it smells SO good) and 10 bags of candy for Halloween!! It would have cost me $130.37. Now, back to homework!!

Super Saturday...yeah, it really was super!!

Our ward had an awesome super saturday this year and I finally went to one. I don't know why I have never gone before but I am hooked from now on! It was 4 hours of pure crafting joy!! I totally should have ordered more and given them away as presents but maybe next year.

Really cute advent calender for Christmas! I don't even have an advent calender, crazy I'm know, but I really like this one!

Then, this is just a tile that I didn't even sign up to do but while I was there I fell in love and a friend of mine just gave me hers! She said she couldn't really picture it anywhere in her house. It was really nice of her!

My favorite thing I did! The Portland Oregon Temple where Aaron and I were sealed. I painted the wood then mod podged the picture on!! Aaron is going to drill holes in the top and I think I will put big red satin ribbon to hang it on! Cute huh! It says eternity on the top, terrible glare! I also made fun red wood mittens that I still need to finish. I will post those when I am done. 4 hours was not enough time to do everything!

This one I was really excited about and I even convinced Aaron to go with me to get this deal! I paid $7.86 for 3 pounds of hamburger and 6 beef sausage sticks! I don't really even like the sausage but Aaron loves them, we just froze them and eat them for probably months!

I actually made money on this at Walgreens. I made $3.25! Those nyquil pills are normally like $8 a peice. Then I got those Cotyonelle wipes for free because I signed up online to get a free coupon!

I paid $1.52 for all of this.

I paid $4.43 for all of this bleach!! I love the smell of bleach! Is that weird?!

Aren't these so cute! I made them, that's right!! Barb and I bought the letters and picked out cute scrapbook paper and then traced them out and used mod podge on each one. I had never used mod podge before but now I am officially hooked. It was super easy and I totally want to do them for each holiday. Joy, for Christmas would be really cute too!

Candy Corn Cookies

I found these super yummy on one of my favorite sites, www.theidearoom.blogspot.com and I knew I had to make them! Seeing as how Halloween is my favorite holiday I am all about using candy corn to make something yummy. Don't you just love candy corn! Although, I always eat too many and then get really sick but hey the're good at first!! Here is the recipe:

1/2 cup butter, room temperature
1/2 cup peanut butter, room temperature
1.2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 tablespoon milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 3/4 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup sugar to roll the dough in (I didn't do this and I thought they tasted great but I am sure they would be good with the sugar too!)
Candy corns (the original recipe actually called for the Halloween hershey kisses but I don't really like those so I did the candy corn!)

375 degree oven for 8-10 min. Right after they come out of the oven put the candy corn or kisses on and they will melt a little, yummy!

Emma Mae

Our sweet little niece Emma Mae Hubbard passed away on September 19th at just 22 months old. She was such a beautiful and caring little girl that she will be sadly missed! Hannah and Spencer were the most amazing parents to little Emma. Aaron and I were able to attend the funeral in Alabama and we felt her sweet spirit the entire time. We know that Audrey, Ethan and Emma are the best of friends and are very busy in heaven!! Every day I am more thankful for the Gospel where families can be together forever! We love and miss you Emma:)

Play dough, play dough, who wants some play dough!

Dylan has been really wanting some playdough and I just haven't had time to go and get it, darn school! However, because my life is ruled by coupons, I just so happen to have some buy one get one free packs of playdough coupons. All of the packs of playdough are on sale at Target this week for $1. Because I'm wacky as Aaron would say and I get 5 newspapers I had 5 coupons! So I got all 10 packs, that's 40 containers for $5! Pretty good! When Dylan got home from school he was SO excited, I just have to prepare myself that there will be a constant mess of playdough under my kitchen table for however long 10 packages of playdough lasts! Ugh, that could be a while!

I got 5 tubs of cool whip, 6 packages of shredded cheese and 4 blocks of cheese all for free!! I can't even believe this one! Good thing cheese freezes really well. It has been a long time since I posted some of my deals. I still go about twice a week but I have been to busy to post I guess! Today I got all of this for $15.99 but I have a $2 coupon that I still have that I can use next time! 5 boxes of cereal, 10 bottles of dressing, 5 boxes of granola bars and 6 bottles of dial soap!! Yeah!

This was a deal I got last week. I was asked to help teach a coupon class with 2 other woman in the ward and this was one of the deals I showed. I got all of this for $5.04! I love love the bread and it is normally really expensive. I also got yummy crackers and cookies and 7 boxes of gogurts that are perfect for Dylan's lunches.

8 year Anniversary!

Today is our 8 year anniversary! Wow, I can't believe it! It really has gone by quick. Why does it look like we were children in our wedding pictures, oh wait I was barely an adult when we got married, gulp!!! I wouldn't have had it any other way though! We have been through so much and we realize that we will have to go through a lot more in our marriage and we are so blessed that we get to do it together.

It hasn't helped that I have the flu today. I woke up last night with a really bad fever and I was throwing up. Luckily my Mom was able to come over today and watch Dylan while I took a few naps, thanks Mom!! It also helped that we didn't really have any huge plans tonight because Aaron is studying again tonight!! He only has tonight and tomorrow night than he is done with school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There wouldn't be enough exclamation points that I could put on here to descirbe how excited we both are that he is almost done with school. 6 of our 8 years together he has been in school. I am SO proud of him and all that he has accomplished. Working full time and having a huge calling and full time school hasn't been easy on him. I still can't believe we made it through! Now it is my turn to go back to school. I am actually really excited! I start the end of this month full time! It is time for Aaron and I to switch roles! Luckily my Mom and my sister Barbara will be able to watch Dylan on the days he doesn't have school so that I can go to my classes! It will take me about 2-3 years to finish but I am just going to take it one semester at a time and try not to think about all of the classes I have to take. Then I will start teaching soon after that! So exciting!!

Sorry to whoever reads all of these posts about my deals but I want to remember how well I did. Plus I have to help do an enrichment on couponing in a few weeks and I need to have some proof of all of my good deals that I have done!

So, for Albertsons I got all of this for $19.04 but I have a $2 coupon that I can use for next time. So $17.04! I saved $61.36!

This is my Walgreens deal. All of this for $18.92 but I have a $3 register reward to use for next time. I saved $103.38! I HAD to buy those kit kats and heath bars because you have to have one item per coupon. I normally never would have bought them but I'm not complaining! Have I mentioned how much I love cheap razors? I got those for .89 each!! Happy Day!

Rainbow Cupcakes

I made these awesome rainbow cupcakes for Dylan's birthday party and they turned out really well! They were actually super hard to make because they took forever but hey I did if for Dylan's party! He thought they were super cool so it was worth the effort.

I just used a white cake mix and I added some sour cream to it. I found the recipe on http://www.ourbestbites.com/ which I love! You have to use the wilton food coloring gels and not the liquid dyes, they don't make the colors as bright. So you have to divide up the cake mix into however many colors you want then mix them together. Then just layer each color in a cupcake liner and cook! So YUMMY!

Dylan is 5 today!!! I love him SO much I just can't believe he is 5! He loves the extra attention today and he is super excited about his party tomorrow! We are going to an awesome park and having rainbow cupcakes and ice cream. Can't wait:)

Look how little he was, only 4lbs even!!

The amazing Dr. Curtis! He was the best doctor! He was super calm as I was screaming to get him out!! I only pushed for 30 min. but it was terrible!! I don't know how women push for any longer!

Do I look tired or what! That was after 4 days in the hospital and I didn't know what was up or down! He was swimming in his clothes and that was a preemie outfit!

I am so thankful for Dylan. He really is my best little friend! Being an only child must be hard so I really try to just play with him as much as I can! I will always feel some sort of guilt and sadness that he will not have any brothers or sisters to play with in this life so Aaron and I will be his best friends! We are so lucky that he is a loving, smart and pretty darn cute kid!

I paid $4.47 for all 6 of these but I got a $5 catalina that I can use on another trip to Albertson's! I had 3 bogo coupons and 3 .40 off coupons that I was able to use. If you spent $25 before coupons a $5 catalina would print out. I could have rolled that catalina to buy 6 more sour creams but how am I going to use the 6 I already have! I better get creative with these, because they expire in 3 weeks! Any ideas...!

Going on a hike

Last weekend we finally had decent weather and we decided to go on a hike. I did not really want to go because I was totally fried from being at a young woman's car wash that morning. However it turned out to be really fun and I'm glad Aaron and Dylan convinced me. What am I going to do being outnumbered by 2 boys my whole life. I am in for camping, hiking, fishing and all things sports for as long as I can see! Oh well, anything for my boys!

Our washer died last week and so we had to buy a new one, ugh. I swear something is always breaking and then we have to fork out all of this money! It was actually perfect timing when the washer broke because we had just recieved our check for one of the houses Aaron had just sold. So, it was a blessing that it happened right when I did!

Even better than the washer according to Dylan was the giant box that the washing machine came in! I cut a door and some windows and he had a new home! He brought his pillow and his blanket and of course some of his toys and played in there for hours!

Another fun trip to Albertsons and Walgreens! The deals weren't too good today but I still couldn't resist! Plus my neice Kalie was over and she babysat for me!! Dylan and couponing don't mix well:)

This was my Albertsons trip. In the Sunday paper they had double coupons which means you can double any manufacturer coupon up to $1. The pretzels were on sale for $2.49 and I had a $1 off coup and the double coup. So each bag was .49! That is Dylan's favorite snack, pretzels! The Cereal was on sale for $2 each and I had a .55 coupon. With the double coupon just .90 each. Lastly, which I was SO excited about was the grilling spray. It was $2.50 and I had a $1 off coup plus the double just .50. This stuff is amazing! Total was $4.31!

Next was my Walgreens deals! Both pictures are from the same trip, but darn I couldn't fit everything I got into one picture!! Hehe!

Jake and Kellie...a register reward is kind of like a gift card that you can use for your next trip and you don't need to wait until the next day or anything to use it. I always do at least 3 or 4 transactions at walgreens. You just roll the register reward to pay for the next transaction. That is how I get most of this stuff so cheap.

My first transaction was the toilet paper (which I was in desperate need of!) I actually got up to the register thinking each one would be $3.99 but they rang up $1.39!! SO, I ran back and grabbed 5 more! Plus I had 1 $1 off coupon and 5 .25 off coupons! Then I bought the bag of M&M's for $3.49 but it printed out a .50 register reward and the pads which were $3.99 but I had a $1 off. Those 2 things were kind of spendy but I was able to get my total above $10 so I could use my $10 register reward from the body wash I got a few days ago! So my total was $3.52!

The next transaction was the shampoo. If you spent $20 before coupons on this brand you were able to get a $5 register reward. Plus I had $1 off of each item! Then I had the .50 register reward the previous transaction. So I paid $15.12 but I have a $5 register reward left that I will use on something else later! Not so bad for 6 things of shampoo and conditioner!

I got all of this for $6.47 but I received a $10 catalina to use next trip. So I made $3.53, Whoo Hoo!! I love getting stuff that I actually needed right then. Aaron was in need of deoderant and I just happened to find this awesome deal. Don't get me wrong it is still fun getting stuff you know you will use in the future but it is even better this way:) Of course Aaron still rolled his eyes at the body wash!! "Men don't use body wash"!! You will buddy!! HELLO it was free, you better start using it! Love him!!!!

So I'll give you the breakdown on what cost what. I had 3 coupons for buy one deoderant get a body wash for free. Each deoderant and body was $4.49, spendy right?! So, the body wash was free then I had a coupon for $2 off of 2 deoderants so I did have to pay full price for 1 deoderant. But then if you bought $25 before coupons on any gillete products you would get the $10 catalina and I already had a $5 off catalina from stuff I had bought a few days earlier. Confused much!! Then I got all of the toothbrushes for free. They were on sale for .99 each and I had a $2 of of 2 coupon, giving me 8 toothbrushes for FREE:)

Alex, Shauna and Lucy come to visit!

We were super lucky to have them come and visit us from Utah! Alex had to take his MCAT here in Idaho because all of the seats were taken down in Utah, so it worked out perfect that they were able to come and visit for the long memorial weekend! Poor Lucy was pretty sick but she was such a trooper! Dylan just loved her and after they left he kept asking when she was coming back, just Lucy not Uncle Alex or Aunt Shauna!! Sorry guys, I think Lucy is his favorite:) However Dylan still sings, "Mommy is a big brown bear", thanks for that Alex!

We had fun just hangin around the house which I think was what everybody needed! We ate a lot of food, watched a lot of basketball and movies!

Thanks again guys for coming!! We had a fun time and we are so thankful for you guys!! We promise we will try to make a trip down there asap!

Preschool Graduation

I had forgotten to post these pics along with my other ones from Dylan's last day of school, so here they are! The graduation was at a pizza place right down the street . The kids got to take a tour of the kitchen area and of course eat some yummy pizza!

His teacher called each student up to recieve his diploma!! She also have him a scrapbook that they had worked on all year with different pictures and cute little captions. Dylan was super excited and he looks at it every day!

Schools out for Summer!! I can't believe it! Dylan could have cared less, but I was excited that he made it through the whole year and he did so well. I am so proud of him:) Next obstacle...all day kindergarten, yikes, good luck with that you brave, brave teacher!

When I picked him up he had recieved 2nd place for playing? Who knows what that means! He said they did a bean bag toss and he got 2nd. So, pretty good!

The deals keep coming! Today was a great day in the coupon world:) I Went to Target and got all of this for $10.03! It would have been $50.07. I had a ton of coupons and luckily the lady was nice and didn't pass out when I handed her the stack of them! It is really a downer when you get a worker that is mean! Most of that stuff is trial sizes which are $1 each. But, If you can find a $1 off of something in the trial size area and it has no size restriction then you get if for free! I got the milk for free because I bought the 3 boxes of cereal which I also had a coupon for. The bliss chocolate was only .99 cents. It was $2.99 but I had a $1 off manf. and a $1 off Target coupon! I will be using those to put together a treat for Dylan's teacher because there is only 2 days left of school (boo hoo!) On to the next good deal:) I also went to Albertsons and got each of these bottles of bbq sauce for .50 each! Who knows if it taste good!! I have enough for the whole summer, so we better like it:) I forgot to take a pic of the one bottle I put in the fridge, so 10 bottles total! I can't wait to tell Aaron when he gets home, he will probably just roll his eyes!! That is what he usually does after I have gone shopping! 10 bottles of bbq sauce, your crazy woman!! You won't be complaining when you loving the bbq we will do this summer! Yum!

I just ran 3 miles!! In a row as a matter of fact:) I am SO not a runner but my sister and I have been doing a cardio kick class 3 days a week and I think it has really helped my endurance. Aaron came to and ran 3 miles as well! Afterwards we went and soaked in the hot tub! Ohh, I am super sore, now where is the tylenol!

Now this is a little shocking for me! I can't even believe I got this for $2.09! My sister had heard about this deal at rite aid so she went to check it out, then immediatly called me. At this exact moment Aaron is taking his last final of the semester!! Can I just TRY to explain how happy I am! This has been one of the hardest semesters that he and I have had to endure. He had to take Information Systems, which if you know Aaron he isn't the most tech savy, and marketing class of some sorts. I try not to ask what and how is doing in school because it stresses us both out!! I feel like complaining so bear with me!! I am tired of him having to study EVERY single night, and most weekends. He doesn't get home until 6:15 and then he has to hurry and eat then he starts studying at 7. If it is a good night he will end around 10:30pm. If it is a bad night who knows how long because I have gotten to tired of waiting up and I am fast asleep!

He is also Elders Quorom President and he has been pretty busy with that too. He is gone ALL day Sunday and usually one night a week he is out doing visits. This doesn't even count for all of the phone calls he gets.

Then he is also busy being a real estate agent. He is about to close on a house with our really good friends the Squires' and then will close another house in about 6 weeks. It takes up a lot of time, but I should be thankful for the paycheck that we will get.

Sorry for all of the nagging but I feel much better!! I am thankful that he is so willing to do all that he is but lets just say there will be a celebration dance around 10:30pm, if it is a good night, PLEASE PLEASE let it be a good night:)

Went to Walgreens and totally scored!! I got all of this for $4.74!! Awesome huh! Very proud of myself:) I was able to get 5 Dawn soaps, 2 Pantene shampoos, 1 Pantene hairspray, 1 awesome razor (there is nothing like a good razor that you practically got for free!!) 2 packages of gummy bears (trust me there good!) 1 Ajax cleaner and 1 thing of tampons!

Roxy got a haircut!! She looks SO cute. She doesn't even look like the same dog! We had taken her to Petco last year to get shaved and it ended up costing us like $50. So, we decided to just buy a dog clipper kit. It was about $50, but now we can shave her anytime. I had just had it with all of the hair. She is shedding her winter coat and it was getting all over the house. Yuck! When Dylan saw her he said she looked naked, poor thing! I think she looks really adorable!

Grow Baby Grow

That is what Dylan said after we had finished planting our starters for our garden!! Well said Dylan, I agree! This year I cut back on how many different things I would plant and just decided to do 6 different things but a lot of each. Pumpkins, cucumbers, cilantro, tomatoes, peppers and parsley. Pretty basic but we are excited to start watching them grow! I love those pumpkins!!

Hopefully they all turn out. Sometimes a few of them don't for some weird reason and because I don't have a green thumb I am praying that I remember to water them!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Bowls...yum!

I made these really yummy cookie bowls that I found on theidearoom.com last week for FHE. They turned out to be SO GOOD! They were actually kind of hard to make and I would have to be really motivated to make them again! However, they were fun to eat and very worth all of the hard work.

Here is the recipe:

1/4 c. brown sugar

1/2 c. sugar

1 egg

1/4 c. butter

1/4 c. butter flavored shortening

1 1/8 c. flour

1/2 tsp. baking powder

1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. vanilla

1/4 cup mini chocolate chips (make sure to use mini cc because the big ones won't roll out flat)

1. To make the cookie cups, beat together shortening, butter and sugar in a large bowl. Add the egg and vanilla, beating until blended.

2. In a seperate bowl, sift together the salt, baking powder, and flour, then stir them into the batter. Stir in chocolate chips.

3. Divide dough in half, shape each half into a flat disk, and wrap it in plastic. Chill for at least 2 hours.

4. Heat oven to 400 degrees, turn two 12 cup muffin tins upside down and cover 10 of the cup bottoms with squares of foil. Don't do them right next to each other because the will spread!

5. Unwrap 1 disk of dough, place between 2 sheets of waxed paper, and roll it to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut out 4 inch circles of dough and place each one over foil cup.

6. Bake for 10-12 mins. Let them cool for 10 min. then remove foil and cool completely.

7. Fill with ice cream and enjoy!! My cup broke of course because I cooked it to long, but it still tasted SO good!

Okay, sorry I just have to post all of my good deals. I know that I said that I wouldn't do that anymore because it probably isn't that interesting for people to see but I work to hard to get these deals and not show them off! So, I will be posting ones that I think I did pretty good on!

All of this for just $17! Pretty good right!! I got all of the halls and all of the toothpastes for free. I just had to pay for the other items which I still got for cheap! I wouldn't have normally bought the red vines and the chocolate egg but I had to use them as filler items. Which basically means sometimes you have to have a certain amount of items to use certain coupons! However, I'm not complaining because the red vines taste pretty good right now!

Sick little boy

Dylan has the flu. Poor thing! We were up most of the night with a high fever and toilet trips every 45 min. or so. He is doing a little better this morning, so I just had to take a few pics of him. I hate to say it but having him sick is one of the few times he will cuddle with me any more. The older they get the less they want to snuggle momma! So, I will be thankful that he only wants me today!!

He was upset because we were planning on going to swim at the YMCA today because it is spring break this week and I have been trying to get out of the house to entertain Madi and Dylan. Looks like a lazy day inside today! That's okay, because I really need to steam clean my carpets! Wish me luck!

The cutest raingutter bookshelves!

Okay, I am officially in love with these shelves!! I found the tutorial on brownpaper--packages.com and have wanted to do them for months!! After enough begging and pleading Aaron finally found some time to do it! My Dad also came over to help because it really is a 2 person job!

All you need is a raingutter that we cut in half and added end caps to the ends of each shelf. Then 3 brackets for each shelf because with all of those books it can get very heavy. It really was that simple.

The thing that I like the most about them is that you can see the covers of the books making it much more appealing for kids to want to read! Dylan loves it and he spent most of the afternoon reading books that he hadn't seen in a while!!

Signs of Spring!

It has been getting really warm here, surprisingly! In the mid 60's for March in Idaho is like a heat wave! I always know when spring is around the corner because my Tulips come up! These tulips are indestructable! Aaron has mowed over them so many times thinking they were weeds, crazy I know and they have still come back!

Dylan has been just itching to go outside and run and play and so when his cousin Isaac came over we did just that! I am always telling Dylan to go and bounce on the trampoline for as long as he possibly can just so that he gets tired out and sleeps better at night!!

I love Spring and the weather just needs to keep getting warmer and I will keep getting happier!

Getting ready for kindergarten

I can't believe it, Dylan will be going to kindergarten in August. It sounds crazy to me but his preschool teacher assures me he will be ready!!!

So tonight was a kindergarten meeting for our school district. All of the kids that will be 5 before school starts got to come and meet with the teachers and also find out what the kids will need to know before school starts. They have to know SO much!! I'm working with Dylan everyday to practice writing his letters but it's hard to get him to focus for more than 5 min. Hopefully he gets some of what I'm teaching because it seems like he isn't!

After the meeting was over each kid got a big school bag with a ton of fun books and other things. Dylan was SO excited that I had to take some pictures! 5 more months left before school starts, I can do it right? Yikes!

A fun pencil! One of the requirements for going to kindergarten was that he know how to write with a pencil, thankfully he LOVES to use one.

A fun Dora book, he doesn't really like Dora but he was still excited. It was about packing her lunch for school! Our school district does full day kindergarten, another stress of mine!! It will be from 7:30am to 2:30pm every Monday and Tuesday and then every other Wednesday all day. It sounds like a lot of school, doesn't it! They say that every 15 min they have them changing activities so that the kids don't get bored.

Okay, so I told myself I wouldn't post anymore "good deals" that I found cause I doubt that it is that interesting but I just had to post this one! The best thing is that I didn't even have to use a coupon!

So I dropped Dylan off at school today and had to go to walmart to get a few things and I really didn't want to go because my foot still hurts really bad and I probably look really silly when I walk but I needed to get out of my house! So I was done with all of my shopping and was about to check out when I saw a lady marking down some things by the front of the store. I ran, as fast as I could, dumb foot, and saw that she was marking down salon shampoo and conditioner. She also had tons of hair products and hand soap. Almost all of them said .50 or $1. I couldn't believe it but she said that her boss told her to get rid of this stuff and she thought those prices were good! I grabbed as much as I could before it was like a feeding frenzy with the people at Walmart! It was crazy, but I was super happy with what I got. Hopefully you can see the prices of the stuff on this picture, maybe click on it to see it better! The shampoo and conditioner were on sale already for $21, which I would still never buy, but I got them for $1 each!!!!!! I grabbed them before she had time to put the tag on!! SO FUN! I still can't believe how lucky I was to get all of that!!

So, all of this stuff would have been...$132.29. I was able to get it for...$11.50!! Crazy!!

Jumping Jungle and my poor foot!

On Saturday we decided to go to a new place that just opened up called, Jumping Jungle. It is a huge building with about 7 big blow up bouncy houses. It was super cheap, only $4 for the kids and free for Aaron and I. Everything started out fun until Aaron challenged me to a race through the huge blow up obstacle course. Half way through the course Aaron and I were tied but then you have to climb up this really steep wall that only has small little ropes to hold onto. I was about to pass Aaron when I missed the top rope and totally fell backwards. It was like total slow mo! I felt SO dumb! While I was falling like 8ft backwards Aaron passed me and slid down the slide to win. As I was falling I landed really badly on my right food. It was SO painful, I almost started to cry!! Luckily there was only one other family there, cause I was so mad!! I was SO mad at Aaron for no reason at all, but it made me feel better to say, you could have let me have a little head start up the wall!! Of course he just laughed! Whatever, I almost beat him!!

So a little background, I have NEVER broken a single bone or even sprained anything in my 27 years. I haven't even had stiches, besides my c-section, which doesn't count!! So this hurts really bad. I have never felt anything like it!! It is really swollen and is starting to turn black and blue:( Aaron just keeps laughing at me as I hobble around the house because he has broken SO many things in his lifetime. His collarbone 3 different times, his jaw and has had too many stiches to count!! I guess I am just a wuss! Before I fell to my doom I did manage to take some cute pics of Dylan, Madi and my nephew Eric!

This was kind of like the ladder that I fell from, really steep!!

A visit from the fire truck!

Last week at Dylan's preschool was fire safety week. His teacher was able to have the fire truck and some fire fighters come and visit the school for about 10 minutes. Dylan was super excited, even though he isn't really that into fire trucks he was still stoked! The firefighters even asked who wanted to sit inside and only Dylan and one other boy were brave enough to do it. Here are a few of the pictures that his teacher sent!

This is inside his preschool where they taught the class safety tips. I didn't think he would remember anything they told him but when I went to pick him up I asked him what he learned and right away he fell to the floor and started to roll around, yelling stop drop and roll! He also remembered to plug your nose and try to cover your eyes when there is smoke. Then when we pulled in our driveway he saw our mailbox and said that that was where we were supposed to meet if there was a fire in our house! I sure am happy he has my memory and not Aaron's, sorry honey but you know it's true!

What a fun day! Well worth the $55 we have to fork out each month! I guess I won't complain next time I'm writing that check!

I made these fun cards with 3 of my girlfriends today! We had such a fun time and all of our kids played together while we were busy making these! So, act surprised when somebody gets one of these!!

I went to Albertson's today and I got all of this for $17.12. It kind of seems like a lot but I saved $29.48 with all of the coupons and my rewards card! Pretty cool huh! All of the granola bars were only $1 each if you bought in 5's. I think I'm going to go back tonight because all post cereal like life and capn crunch is only $1 in pairs of 5. Very exciting!

I got this beautiful birthday card from my sister in law, Kellie! She is so good at making cards! I couldn't believe how much time it must have taken her to make this card! I can seriously only hope to ever make a card that well. When I showed Aaron the card he about died!! He asked if I was going to send a card back and I said how, nothing I make will compare!! We laughed for a while. Then he said, "the card war begins"!! Isn't that SO funny! So I went to Joanns that same day trying to look for something I could do that would impress her and I searched and searched for an hour and left mad and with nothing!! I'm sure I will come up with something good! Kellie, just you wait and see!!

By the way, I am so excited to come out there and visit Jake and Kellie! Even though Jake has to drill on probably all of my teeth I am super excited to spend time with Kellie and the kids! So Jake, just drug me up and I'll be happy!!

Madi has been wanting to have her friend Hope over for a sleepover and we have been trying to organize it for weeks! She was finally able to come over on Friday night! They had such a blast! I did too, probably too much! Madi had a half day that day so after school we went to the store and got everything to make homemade pizzas. They had so much fun making and eating them. After that we went to the video store and rented some movies and when we got back we made chocolate fondue! YUM! What a fun night we had! After Hope left Madi said, "we have to do that again"! I agreed!!

I know, I bet everybody is sick of hearing about my good deals but I get so excited about them! I got all of this for...drumroll please...$7.42! Before all of my coupons I would have spent, $39.89! Such a thrill! That Aveeno Shampoo was originally $7.49 a bottle and they rang up buy 1 get one free plus I had 2 $2.50 off coupons. Then the face wash rang up $5.79 a bottle and that was also b1g1 free but then I had 4 $2 off coupons. They had a sale on the oats also for 2 for $3 but I had 2 $1 off coupons, so I got them for .50 each. So exciting! I got all of the coupons off the internet too, didn't even have to use my newspaper coupons! Plus, the deal gets even better, if you spent $30 before coupons on any Aveeno or clean and clear product you can mail in a rebate form and they send me $10 back! So, I get all of this stuff for free plus $2 and some change back!!

Go Madi! Madi is doing so good in school. She really loves going too, which I find amazing because I hated school! She will never know that but I did!!! Her favorite class is art. She would draw all day long if she could! She has drawn a ton of pictures in her art class that she has recieved an A+ on and a few of them have actually been selected to be hung in the school district office.

She also had a test in Social Studies today and she aced that one too! It was on all of the parts of Canada, she was very excited about that one!

We are so proud of Madi! She works really hard in all of her classes, 3 of which are advanced. So, she usually has a ton of homework and she always does it without complaining.

Too much technology

Dylan had his cousin Eric over today and he had brought his new Ipod that he got for Christmas and all Dylan wanted to do was watch an episode of Spongebob on the Ipod. I couldn't believe all that Ipod could do. It has radio and it also has a pedometer. You can also flip the Ipod upside down and the image flips with it! Too advanced for me! I came downstairs and this is how I found Dylan! There might as well have been a do not disturb sign in front of him! What happened to the days of watching cartoons on the tv? Also, what happened to the days of cartoons that were simple and didn't involve fighting or bad words. What happened to shows like Fraggle Rock or Duck Tales. Loved those shows! Oh well, times change I guess.

Christmas 2009

What a fun Christmas we had! It was very sad however, not to be able to travel to sunny California to visit Aaron's family! Aaron wasn't able to get time off from work and we are wanting to save all of his vacation days for a huge trip in August!!

So, we had our Christmas with our little family! Christmas eve day Aaron had to work, but he was able to get off work at 2:30! So we went out and did last minute shopping trip to Petco because Dylan wanted to get Roxy a bone for Christmas! So sweet!

Later that night, we started a fire and read Luke 2 and The night before Christmas. Now that Dylan is 4 he loves Christmas and is obsessed with Santa! I don't know what I'll do now that I can't use Santa as a ploy for Dylan to be good! Everytime we go to a store he would ask, can I get that toy, and I would just say, wait and see what Santa brings you. Great, I really played that up to much!

We even made sugar cookies and chocolate milk for Santa! I think he liked it, or so Aaron says!

We weren't able to have Madi with us because she was at her Mom's, but we got her an easy bake oven (which I think I was more excited about than her!) and an Easel. It has a big paper roll and a chalk side and a dry erase bored! She is SUCH a good artist! She loves her art class in school and a few of her art pieces have been selected to hang in the school hallways and in the school distict office!

I was really proud of myself this year because we had a certain budget for toys and because I shopped black friday and found all of the good deals we were able to have a good Christmas. I got Aaron a few shirts, I know really boring but he was happy! He surprised me with a gift card to an awesome card making store in Boise. When Aaron got the gift card he even got all of the stuff to make me a cute Christmas card to put the gift card in!

On Christmas day afternoon all of the adults went to see Sherlock Holmes, a Collins family tradition to see a movie on Christmas day. It was a really good movie, and we were thankful to my Mom who generously offered to stay and watch the little ones! That night we had a big Christmas dinner and just hung out with my family.

So on Saturday we went down to the card store where I almost passed out! I had never seen so much fun stuff! I got a embossing heat tool and a ton of different colors of embossing powder. A ton of cardstock and some fun embelishments for my cards! Thank you honey, one of the best presents ever! What a fun Christmas, one we will remember for the rest of out lives! One of the most memorable was reading the scriptures and talking to Dylan about the true meaning of Christmas, to remember our Savior. I am thankful for my family and for a wonderful holiday season. Merry Christmas!

Stockings

Aaron came home from work yesterday with this! One of his truck brokers sent him this for Christmas. I about passed out! I have never seen a bigger gift basket. It came with so many yummy things. Godiva chocolate, chocolate covered raisins and nuts. Popcorn and a million different kinds of crackers! Aaron and I pigged out big time! So much for working out yesterday! Now to get back to work, I can't believe it's Christmas eve! Dylan is SO excited!!

Snow Day

We have had a lot of snow in the last week! It has made it SO scary to drive in but Dylan sure loves it, so I guess it is worth it! I got him all bundled up and out he went. He loves to eat the snow and I tried to convince him to put vanilla on it because that is what I used to do as a kid, but he wouldn't go for it! Oh well, it was a fun day!

He tried to bounce on the trampoline but it didn'twork so well!

Okay so it is freezing here in the arctic that is Idaho!! The official high today was 14 degrees. The low tonight will be 1 degree. Yipee! That doesn't even factor in the wind chill. Idaho is known for its wind, which doesn't help the temperature! A few days ago it snowed for the first time and it obviously has not melted which makes for wonderful driving conditions...not! It is also supposed to snow the entire weekend and the first part of next week! Great! I used to love the snow as a kid but now I know why my Mom always hated it because it is so scary to drive in. Anyway, enough of my complaining, I should be thankful for the moisture we're recieving, right?!

Better yet, I get to go ice skating tonight with my one laurel and the mia maids! I have not been ice skating since I was a child and I don't remember it being ANY fun! I don't see why we have to drive 45 min to the rink when we can just skate on our sidewalks! Wish me luck, hopefully I don't break anything!

Christmas card picture

It may not come as a shock to some of you, but I hate to take family pictures!! I find it stressful and never fun. So, I finally decided that we needed a new picture for our Christmas card that I am about to send out. Which has been the biggest headache. Since I have been so into making cards lately I decided to make our card this year. Big mistake!! It has taken SO long and it has turned into something that I have not been excited about. I finally finished them yesterday and I pick up the pictures tomorrow and I am so excited to mail them off!! Please act shocked when you open up the card and see this same picture that I just added to our blog!! That was the best one out of 20 that we took! Anyway...I am excited that I finished everything and I am happy with the picture and card! I won't have to worry about for another 12 months!!

Preschool Fun

Why can't all school be as fun as preschool! I love Dylan's preschool! He has so much fun when he goes and they make such fun things. Today he made a gingerbread man ornament for the Christmas tree. He also made a paper chain link Christmas countdown. So adorable!! When I picked Dylan up from school he said he ate marshmallows and graham crackers for their snack. His favorite! Mrs. Janna as he calls her, has a party once a month that all of the parents get to come to. This month they are having a Christmas gift exchange!

I also REALLY enjoy the time to myself!!! I get to go to the store by myself...HEAVEN! He has learned so much in the last 4 months that he seems like a different child. He runs around the house spelling out his name, D-Y-L-A-N! I am so proud of him and I love him so much! What a cute "big" boy he is!! I still want him to be my baby!

His face is always dirty! It really must be a boy thing because no matter what he eats it gets all over his face and his clothes...I can't keep up!

Black Friday...up and at em' at 4am!

What a busy day! I decided to go out and try to find some good deals. So I scoured the ads on Thanksgiving and found some pretty good deals. My alarm went off at 4am and I was VERY tempted to go back to sleep. Only cause it was freezing outside and my bed was oh so warm. I'm really glad I did because I left just at the right time. Most of the stores opened at 5am, and so off I went to walmart...not my favorite store but they had a toy that Dylan really wanted for Christmas that was half off. I was surprised when I got there at 4:20am and they were letting people in but you just had to wait till 5 until you could buy your stuff. The store was SO packed and I had to park at the very end of the row. After Walmart I went over to Target and that was even crazier! There weren't any carts so I had to carry all of my stuff. They had really good towels for $1.50, crazy huh! So I had to carry 10 towels and then hike it over to the electronics to get a dvd player they had on sale. On the way I ran into my brother Ken and his wife Diana who had their arms full to! We got in line which was wrapped all around the store and we luckily found a cart. My brother stayed with the cart while Diana and I went to look at more stuff, thanks ken!! So, I got 10 towels and a dvd player for $35. I was pretty proud of myself. After that I went home and went back to bed till 9am!

Later in the afternoon we decided to go bowling. Madi has really been wanting to go and Dylan has never been. We had a lot of fun! Even though it cost us, gulp... $19 just for one game. But we will have good memories!

So... now off to bed, I'm still tired!

What a great day! My birthday happened to fall on Thanksgiving this year which was fun because I hosted Thanksgiving too! My family came over and we ate a ton of food! Then we had my birthday and my neice Adelaide's first birthday! It was fun to share our birthdays together.

Beautiful Flowers

Thank you Kellie and Allison! Yesterday I was at home kind of having a crummy day and the doorbell rang. I ran upstairs and opened the door to see the Fed Ex guy holding a very large box! He probably thought I was going to pass out because I never get anything from the Fed Ex guy! I grabbed the box and not only was it large but it was very heavy! I still had no idea what it was or who had sent it. I opened it up and saw these beautiful flowers with a beautiful glass vase. Inside was a card from my sister in laws, Kellie and Allison. They had just thought of me and decided to send me flowers! Isn't that so nice!!! Needless to say the rest of my day was awesome and every time I look at them I smile! So, thank you again for thinking of me! I love you guys!

What a great day today was! I am so thankful for all that have served and who are serving now to protect my freedom. Today was extra special because my Dad is a Vietnam Vet. He was asked to speak at Skyview High School in Nampa today. He spoke about his experiences as a soldier in the Vietnam War and how it has affected him today. A Colonal and a Navy Officer also spoke and it was great. I had to bring Dylan which didn't work out so well. He got really antsy right when my Dad spoke because he was the last one to speak. However, I was greatful that I was able to go. I am so proud of my Dad for all the sacrifices he made to serve our country.

Today my sister and my Mom and I went to Albertsons and Target because we had a ton of coupons to use and I was hoping I could get a good deal. At Albertsons I was able to get the peanut butter, jelly and toothpaste for $5.40. Then at Target I had a $1 off of their brand of wipies and they were on sale for $1.62. So, I got them for .62 cents with a grand total of around $8 including tax!! I love a good deal!

Food Storage

I am very excited because we FINALLY were able to get some food storage and 72 hour kits together. Now it's not a lot but it is probably about 3 months worth. What I am most excited about is our 72 hour kits. We have 4 backpacks with first aid stuff, food, water and other emergency things that we could grab in a hurry if something happened. I will continue to add to our storage but I am just thankful that we were able to get some things together!

Halloween was really fun this year! We went to our ward trunk or treat and we had a blast! Then on Saturday we went up to my sisters house and carved our pumpkins and decorated sugar cookies! There goes all of my workouts I did last week!! Oh well!! Then we went trick or treating and all of the kids got a ton of candy!
